I was able to communicate today at 1.8 miles with no mesh. Point A was at 200ft above sea level, Point B was at 1000ft above sea level. Works great! Now to extend to the next hop!

The whole island is maybe 600 square miles. It could be done. The real test would be sending a message from one island to another.
