Hi @danielagotenna,
I have tried the contact form at gotennapro.com in three different browsers, and form does not appear to be working. Is there a direct email that I should try? Thanks!
Hi @mighkel you can contact prosupport@gotenna.com for more information.
Like @cdadamo, I reached out to the Pro team and ATAK-CIV+goTenna Mesh=no-go. They’re pushing the expensive Pro units - the end.
There are a couple guys on the ATAK-CIV Discord that have gotten goTenna Mesh units to work well on an older version of ATAK; but you can’t even download the plugin unless you can get an account on takmaps, which requires a .gov or .mil account… to get the consumer plugin. ???
I think I’ll be sending back the Mesh units I just ordered, and looking for another SA solution.
Just to try and offer some clarity in this matter:
In general, ATAK plugins are signed by the developer and specific to the version and flavour of ATAK (CIV/MIL/DEV/etc). If a plugin is tampered, wrong version, or carries an untrusted signature, ATAK will refuse to load it.
A goTenna Mesh plugin for ATAK-CIV has existed since at least version 3.6 of ATAK, and the newest I have seen is 3.11. Not sure about the status for version 4, which is the current version of ATAK.
Version 3.8.1 works well enough for me.
Like all taxpaid software, ATAK and its plugins are free in the US, but subject to a quagmire of licenses and regulation outside of the US. However, “information wants to be free” and this horse has well and truly left the barn.
The source code of the goTenna Mesh plugin is copyrighted and only available from underground sources. It uses the official goTenna Android SDK.
That’s probably all I can say safely; anything more and this post risks getting deleted like my previous one.
Do they have an iOS version?
Has anyone tried using tierzero for the routing and gotenna mesh for the transport between devices?
I’m giving it a shot this afternoon.
