Gotenna v1 / User privacy (registered phone #)

I came across a video the other day that was published around 3 weeks ago. Gotenna v1 was looked at and tested to see if it could be hacked to trace the signal and obtain the phone number tied to the unit to ID sender and or recipient, and it appears they were able to ID the phone number registered to the device. What is Gotenna position on this? They later mention that they had not testeded the mesh units yet…

That video was made by some friendly hackers we know presenting at DEFCON.

goTenna and goTenna Mesh both offer secure encryption and the option of anonymity at the packet layer. If anonymity at the packet layer is important to you, please use our random GID feature instead of setting your account up with your phone number – that’s it! :slight_smile:
