Hello there,
I am thinking about buying a goTenna Mesh kit for hunting in Quebec, nearby the Manouane Lake.
At some point, my partners and I will be about 30 km apart from each other.
I am thus wondering whether the V89 Stationary Relay will do the work for us, if we are using goTenna mesh to communicate - i.e. is 500 miles range really possible (see picture)? It juste seems too good to be true!
Thanks in advance for replying!
Hello,
Thank you for your interest in goTenna Mesh products.
Node Map is used for users to self report if they wish, . Mobile nodes show general locations where meshers regularly use their devices. Powered stationary relay nodes show exact locations where meshers have set up fixed, powered-on devices (e.g. connected to outlets, solar, etc. ) This must have been a typo, relay nodes do extend your range, however not up to 500 miles.
In general, you can expect up to 4 mi (6.4 km) point-to-point range in open environments such as plains, desert, beach-side, etc. Expect up to 0.5 mi (0.8 km) point-to-point range in congested areas such as cities, mountains, ravines, thick forests, etc.
Thanks
Naz
